Position Available: Technical Store Manager
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Department: Engineering & Maintenance
Reports to: Head of Supply Chain
About the Role: As a Technical Stores Manager at Air Peace Limited, you will play a crucial role in the warehouse management of the Technical Department. Your responsibility will be to ensure a seamless flow of aircraft spares to support Air Peace and our contracted customers’ fleet needs. You’ll maintain strict adherence to Air Peace’s procedures and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Technical Stores unit, ensuring continuous material support for operations around the clock.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to minimise urgent orders and enhance operational reliability.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconciliations to meet financial and audit requirements.
- Implement quality control measures in each area of the Technical Stores and foster a culture of discipline and procedure compliance.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers regarding material supply status, limitations, and delivery delays.
- Ensure compliance with both Air Peace’s internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and adopt innovative technologies, techniques, and methodologies to achieve high stock accuracy levels, efficient warehouse layout, and resource utilisation.
- Develop and implement procedures for the secure storage and movement of spare parts.
- Address operational issues related to administration, staff, and deviations from standard procedures.
- Investigate any instances of lost material, determine the root cause, and implement preventative measures.
- Review audit and inspection reports, take short-term corrective actions, and provide recommendations for long-term improvements.
- Build collaborative relationships with the Maintenance, CAMO, and Procurement departments.
- Uphold company safety, health, and environmental policies.
- Guide, motivate, and develop staff to enhance efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as required by the Head of the Supply Chain.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Accuracy of inventory records.
- Takes time for material issuance.
- Instances of inventory outages.
- Management of obsolete and excessive materials.
- The number of incidents or accidents.
- Timely resolution of audit findings.
- Team development progress.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Engineering (Green belt certification in Six Sigma is a plus).
- Minimum of 7 years of work experience, with at least five years in a leadership role in an Airline/MRO Technical Warehouse or Engineering Management of a large organisation.
- Profound knowledge of airline inventory, warehouse management, and relevant aviation regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in a technical store environment, with a successful track record of leading multiple teams and familiarity with lean principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications and MRO systems.
- Strong people management skills.
